Do you go in (to a shift) if an employer gives short notice?

Say you were not sure whether you were to go in on a certain day, they told you they'd let you know. Would that day, an hour before they needed you, be too short of notice for you?

It depends. If I were hurting for hours or money, I might jump at any chance to work. If the commute time allows for it within an hour, I might go in.
However, if I didn't have much inspiration to go on that day, if I had other (better) things to do, etc., I might not go in.

An hour is really too short of a notice ; especially IF I had already made plans for that day ...  However; if I had nothing to do that was important ; I'd probably go on in for the xtra $$$$$ .
