If you have ever waited tables, what are some obvious mistakes you see when wait staff are portrayed in media?

I think the media forget to portray how very boring it can be at times.. I did that job as a favour for someone a long while back. It was ok, but I spent most of my time watching the clock. Every minite felt like an hour sometimes. Truly awful!
