It is 1:30 p.m. and I've changed mine 5 times since 5:30 a.m.. A constant reminder of failed foot surgery on both feet. I should send the surgeon a "thinking of you," card, as a day doesn't go by that I don't think of his mess-up.
That sounds awful. I change mine often, but it's because I'm often moving between outside and in. Slippers, clogs, boots, running shoes. I've received advice to invest more money in the latter... Got pretty cheap ones and been having some back issues.
I have work shoes and good shoes. Both are tennis shoes and always pink. I put on whichever pair is needed. They are normally on until the end of the day. On occasion I will change from my good shoes to the work shoes if I am doing something that will get messy.
Is it too late to require the doc to fix your feet?

I'll never go back to him again that's for sure. There is a long recovery time for foot surgery, just not up to going through that again. The simpler solution would be to have shoes custom made, however that is out of my price range. Meanwhile I have a closet full of shoes, keep buying them in hopes of finding something that will work out. In the winter I have a pair of crocks I wear with 40 below socks which works great. Going out in public is the only problem. The floors in my house are too cold to go barefoot in winter and summer.

I see. My granddaughter has arch issues she inherited from her Dad. She has to have expensive custom insoles.
I recently found this site after I was told about her feet. It claims to have custom insoles you do yourself. The price is better than the ones from the doc. We have not tried them but it sounds promising. Maybe they would help you as well.
I do have high arches however that isn't the problem. The last doctor operated on the second, third and forth toes, which he put back in the wrong place, this forces my little toes over the fourth toes. Not even sandals work, everything I buy is a problem. The crocks don't come in half sizes so I am forced to buy a pair that are much too large. The thick 40 below socks I wear in the winter time fill up the shoe to an acceptable level, the socks are much too hot for the summertime. Thank you for the link, I do have insoles that were made many years ago and I love them, however I am unable to wear them with my current problem. After the operation the doctor took off the bandages, I told him my feet didn't look right, he was very dismissive and said they would heal. In the hospital, post surgery was a nightmare but that is another saga I won't get into.
If I hadn't been finishing my education, I would have sought out corrective surgery before my feet healed, unfortunately the timing didn't work out. Yes, he was a horrible doctor in every single way.
If I go outside to the pool, mailbox, etc. I put flip flops on. Those flip flops live on my front porch. Inside the house, the terrace, and the balcony I have no shoes on. I own many pairs of shoes, including some still new in the boxes. But down here, if it ain't necessary it ain't on me body. Too hot. Our high is 93.

My feet are thin, have had a hard time finding a pair of flip flops that will stay on. Glad you suggested it, I'll give that a try again, perhaps there are new styles out there that would work out. I have a pair I wear right after a pedicure but they come off the minute I get to the car. Will definitely look again, there has to be something for thin feet. So many unisex shoes as well out there, they never work for me, men's feet are usually thicker.
