There's another song by them you've posted and I remember really liking it.

To me, Mark Knopfler is the greatest guitarist alive, of all time second only to the late Jimi Hendrix.
Gilmour, May, Clapton, EVH, Page, Walsh are/were all amazing but the Knopf shades them. Just barely, but he's better.

I like it that he does not use a pick and he rarely looks down at the strings.

He barely uses his right hand at all - its a supersensitive pick up on the Schecter and he's drawing sound from impact on the frets. Amazing dexterity.

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. I was born there, moved to Adelaide, South Australia at the end of 1989 with my wife and infant daughter.

Thank you.  A trip to Australia is one of my; "wish I could go tomorrow," places.  Very interested in the Aboriginal people, their art and history.   Would have enjoyed going to the big rock/mountian with all the ancient paintings.  I hear it is off limits now, but do understand why they did it.

You can still go to Uluru, you just can't climb it any more.

If you ever make it to Australia, please beware of the Vegemite pushers. If you decide to taste it at all, or even touch it, please be prepared for a 14-hour quarantine upon re-entering the United States. Also, and this is very important, don’t let them sneak any of it into your luggage or other personal belongings, they’re trying everything they can to smuggle it into the United States and they will use you as a mule. They are crafty and sly. Grrrrrrr.

So sad...for the Vegemite growers. (It is a farm product, right?)

“Growers”, he says. Nice euphemism, criminal kingpin. I suppose you also tell the investigators that you’re a legitimate businessman, right? Grrrrrrrr.

This one is at the top of my list.  Great stage presence, knows how to work it.

Rough weekend and that was creepy.

I don't understand the song of his people/culture part of your reply but I'm okay with that.
I just love the REM song (and music video that goes with it).

I'll try watching again another time.

Actually today has been worse than the entire weekend.

When a dog or coyote howls they are singing the song of their people, when a bird sings they are singing the song of their people as well.  I's an abstract way of explaining their behavior.
